Section 1: General Rules
Rules #0-4
Rule #0: The Golden Rule
Description: The Golden Rule serves as the foundation for all our community rules, guiding how we enforce them. Only staff members can enforce rules. Public trials and witch-hunting are discouraged. In some cases, staff may use discretion to address toxic behavior, harassment, or community preservation. Promoting our community on other platforms (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, etc) should adhere to those platforms' Terms of Service. We reserve the right to modify, add, or update rules without prior notice. If you wish to appeal an action taken based on the Golden Rule, an impartial intermediary will be provided internally.
Examples:
An admin may ban a player for toxic behavior damaging the community's reputation.
Admin discretion may be used in scenarios not explicitly covered by the Golden Rule but warrant intervention.
Punishments: Penalties range from warnings to bans based on the severity of the violation.
Rule #1: Respect
Description: Treat all community members with respect and courtesy. Avoid harassment, hate speech, discrimination, and any behavior that can harm others. Engaging in combative behavior towards staff or causing unnecessary issues can be grounds for removal from the community.
Examples:
Using offensive language or slurs against other players.
Discriminating against someone based on their real-life characteristics.
Making fun of someone OOCly on account of their voice or appearance.
Releasing personal information about someone.
Using words such as βweirdβ or βstrangeβ to target or describe someone's roleplay in a derogatory manner is not allowed.
Insulting another player's roleplay because you disagree with their character's actions.
Punishments: Breaches can result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans, depending on severity.
Rule #2: Common Courtesy
Description: Recognize that everyone is here to have fun as a community. Prioritize the overall enjoyment of roleplay and collaborate positively with others." We ask players to refrain from engaging in role-play themes that could be considered distressing or inappropriate, such as suicide, self-harm, pregnancy, and similar topics.
Examples:
Roleplaying as a courteous character who respects others' boundaries.
Collaborating with fellow players to create enjoyable roleplay scenarios.
Punishments: Depending on severity, breaches can result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.
Rule #3: Character Creation & Progression
Description: Create characters that fit within the server's roleplay setting. Avoid power-gaming or unrealistic character backgrounds. When creating a brand new character, we expect that your role-play follows a gradual gradient of progression. Your character must start small and progress throughout their life at a realistic rate, ensuring the progression of a good backstory, strengths, weaknesses, experiences, and friendships.
Examples:
Roleplaying as a billionaire without appropriate in-game progression.
Creating a new character and roleplaying that they already run and own a significant business.
Establishing a faction and immediately jumping into bank robberies, illicit operations without first establishing a reputable history/roleplay.
Punishments: May lead to character progression adjustments or character reevaluation.
Rule #4 Low-Quality Roleplay (LQRP)
Description: Low-Quality Roleplay (LQRP) refers to actions, interactions, or behaviors that fall below the expected standard of roleplay quality within our community. LQRP diminishes the immersive experience for all players involved and undermines the core principles of our community.
Examples:
Unrealistic Actions: Performing actions that are entirely unrealistic within the context of the roleplay scenario. For instance, claiming to be impervious to damage, performing superhuman feats, or disregarding the laws of physics.
Excessive Meta-Gaming: Sharing or acting on information that your character would not realistically possess, gained through out-of-character (OOC) means, such as Discord chats or other unauthorized sources.
Failure to Engage in Roleplay: Ignoring roleplay opportunities or failing to respond to other players' actions or dialogue appropriately.
Breaking Character: Consistently behaving in a manner that contradicts your character's established personality, backstory, or motivations.
Punishments: Breaching this rule can lead from a warning to a permanent ban depending on severity.
