Section 11: Miscellaneous Rules

Rules #41-47

Rule #41: Real World Trading / Asset Transferring

Description: Trading in-game assets, properties, memberships, or accounts for real-world money is strictly prohibited. Do not mix in-character and out-of-character goods and services.

Examples: Advertising the sale of in-game currency for real-world money on external websites. Exchanging in-game assets for real-world currency.

Punishments: Can result in permanent bans for all related accounts.

Rule #42: Ban Evasion

Description: Creating or using alternative accounts to evade an active ban is strictly prohibited and may extend the original ban.

Punishments: May lead to permanent bans for all related accounts and extensions of the original ban.

Rule #43: Body Dumping

Description: Dumping a player's body is allowed in Isles RP, players are welcome to hide a body and/or lower the likelihood of medical attention under certain restrictions. A body cannot be dumped in the Ocean. Lake/Well/Cliff dumping are allowed, as long as they are accessible to others. They should not be left in deep water or somewhere EMS cannot reach them. Players should not linger once a body has been dumped.

Punishments: Breaching this rule can lead from a warning to a permanent ban depending on severity.

Rule #44: Supernatural Roleplay

Description: Isles RP embraces well-thought-out supernatural and sci-fi characters, but you must roleplay their abilities seriously. Don't force these powers onto other players. Respect consent-based interactions. Maintain a serious and respectful atmosphere when playing metaphysical characters.

Examples: Use supernatural abilities realistically in roleplay (Ceremonies, Events, Lore). Incorporate this into storytelling without dominating. You cannot '/me cast a spell that forces you to give me free food' and force the other player to follow this.

Rule #45: Vehicle Modification

Description: Mechanics are strictly prohibited from putting weapons on vehicles, which is technically possible for some cars and bikes.

Examples: Adding a machine gun to a car. Adding additional armored plates or bulletproof glass.

Punishments: [IC] Getting fired from your mechanic job. Breaching this rule can lead from a warning to a permanent ban depending on severity.

Rule #46: Third-Party Modifications / Exploits

Description: Third-Party Modifications are defined as utilizing any form of software, modification, application, or assistance to give yourself an unfair advantage or act maliciously while playing in our community. This can range from your run-of-the-mill cheat software to overlays that give you more information on server stats, where to aim, etc.

Examples: Installing cheat software to give you the location of other players. Using automation software to rapidly mimic inputs. Using .dll executables for any reason whatsoever. Launching a Denial of Service attack against any of our services.

Punishments: The use of Third-Party Modifications on the server will almost always result in a permanent ban depending on the severity.

Rule #47: No Voice ID

Description: Refusing to ID based on voice allows residents to play as other characters without confusing yourself or others. Not everyone is comfortable using other voices and not everyone has found a voice for their character. Additionally, there are more intense roleplay scenarios, like crime, where IDing based on voice shuts down roleplay or ends the storyline. It is encouraged that criminals, or roleplayers acting out similar scenarios, in disguise attempt to disguise their voice for the sake of enhancing immersion.

Examples: PD is not allowed to voice ID criminals, especially if they are wearing masks.

Punishments: Voice IDing other residents will most likely result in a warning on the first offense.

Rule #48: Government Corruption

Description: Corruption within government/allowlisted jobs is permitted, but only to a certain extent, and depends on the position within said allowlisted job. Corruption arks for characters must have reasoning and effort around it.

Example:

This means corruption cannot just randomly happen because a player decides to take equipment from armories and pass it out or sell it. This would be an example of Low-Quality Corruption which is taking from an infinite supply that takes no effort, and then using it to gain a financial advantage.

Punishments: Government Corruption without any effort or in a Low-Quality manner can result in a temporary suspension or more if necessary.

Rule #49: AI Use

Description: The use of AI technology within Isles County is only acceptable for accessibility purposes. Acceptable use cases include:

  • An individual using a TTS service to communicate verbally.

  • An individual using a screen reader as a visual aid.

This is not an exhaustive list. Please open a ticket if you are concerned that your prospective AI use may violate this rule. Examples:

  • Creating or manipulating images for use within the Isles community.

  • Creating or manipulating music for use within the Isles community.

  • Creating or manipulating literature for use within the Isles community.

Punishments: Depending on severity, breaches can result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.

Rule #50: Police Responding to Calls

Description: Responding to calls as a police officer must be done while on duty with only a few specific exceptions. If officers get an Urgent Panic Button call or an excessive amount of shots fired calls then responding while off duty is allowed.

Anytime an officer is off duty, they cannot respond to calls unless it is a Panic Button or excessive Shots Fired (3+) calls.

This includes not responding to ANY /911 calls, store robberies, suspicious activities, etc.

Though you cannot respond to calls off duty, besides panic buttons and excessive shots fired calls, officers may respond to situations that they see happen in front of them. They are not required to respond to stuff in front of them if they do not want to. Examples:

  • An off duty officer (not appearing on duty, no uniform, no police vehicle) getting a suspicious activity call and responds to it without changing their duty status, uniform, or vehicle is not allowed.

  • An off duty officer (not appearing on duty, no uniform, no police vehicle) getting an Urgent Panic Button call and responds without changing their duty status, uniform, or vehicle is allowed.

Punishments: Depending on severity, breaches can result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.
